Job summary

PAUL HEURING MOTORS INC. seeks a Used Car Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair a variety of vehicles in our used car service department. You will perform preventive maintenance, reconditioning, and both minor and major repairs to uphold quality standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as automotive technician, preferably in a used car environment.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills across multiple automotive systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• ASE certifications and/or technical school training preferred, but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and repair procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on used vehicles efficiently and accurately.
• Test drive vehicles and inspect systems including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical, steering, air conditioning, and more.
• Use diagnostic tools, power tools, and hand tools to perform repairs and replacements.
• Communicate directly with Service Advisors to report additional repair needs and provide accurate time estimates.
• Perform reconditioning, preventive maintenance, and minor to major repairs to keep inventory in top condition.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all work performed.
• Stay current on new vehicle technology, repair techniques, and OEM service specifications.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow and high customer satisfaction.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and dealership procedures.
