Job Description

The hourly range for this role is $16 - $18 per hour guaranteed minimum, and $23 - $29 flat rate based on experience.

The Technician role is full-time or part-time, hourly, based on business needs. Responsibilities include conducting basic vehicle diagnostics, performing routine repairs and maintenance according to standards and manufacturer specifications. Providing exceptional 5-star service, communicating vehicle issues effectively, and meeting guest expectations are key.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform basic vehicle diagnostics to identify required repairs.
  2. Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle, documenting and communicating additional services; audit courtesy inspections by General Service Technicians.
  3. Assist in inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking.
  4. Maintain store cleanliness and readiness according to Monro standards.
  5. Perform services safely, following safety standards and procedures.
  6. Test drive vehicles following Monro’s policies, adhering to traffic and safety laws.
  7. Follow company policies, governmental standards, and safety protocols.
  8. Maintain technical knowledge through Monro University training.
  9. Operate and maintain equipment safely, including lifts, welders, brake lathes, etc.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Profile Summary:

  • Capable of basic automotive maintenance, repair, and tire services.
  • Ability to diagnose problems and identify root causes.
  • Ability to interpret instructions in various formats.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Automotive training or equivalent experience.
  • ASE certification and State Inspection license preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Own basic tools or participate in Monro’s tool purchase program.
  • Ability to perform automotive services and diagnose issues.
  • Strong communication skills.
