Automotive Technician/Mechanic and Automotive General Service Technicians

Positions are available across our retail locations, in field management, and at our Store Support Center in Rochester, NY. Responsibilities:

Pay: $22-$28 per hour, based on experience. Additional incentives may apply.

1. Collaborate with Store Manager on store operations, including hiring, training, coaching, disciplining, and terminating staff.
2. Support automotive technicians by training and developing team members on shop operations and guest services.
3. Assist with employee scheduling, timecard completion, and work assignments for Lube and Tire technicians.
4. Perform duties of an automotive technician when required.
5. Attend meetings and clinics to stay updated on tools, parts, and repairs.
6. Perform basic vehicle diagnostics and identify required repairs.
7. Complete Monro's Courtesy Inspection on every vehicle.
8. Assist in inventory management and store duties.
9. Follow safety standards and procedures during services.
10. Test drive vehicles following company policies and traffic laws.
11. Maintain technical knowledge through Monro University training.
12. Operate and maintain equipment safely according to manufacturer guidelines.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour (based on experience), plus potential flat rate earnings of $25 - $35.

General Service Technician Role:

This full-time or part-time hourly position involves routine vehicle repair and maintenance, delivering exceptional service through effective communication and meeting guest expectations for time and quality.

Salary Range: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour (based on experience), with additional incentives possible.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of automotive and sales experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to operate customer vehicles.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work overhead.
• Good communication skills and basic math skills.
• Guest and team-focused mindset.
• Automotive training or equivalent experience; ASE certification and State Inspection license preferred.
• Own basic tools or participate in Monro’s tool purchase program.
