Job Description

Starting Pay: $20 to $25 per hour, based on experience, with additional incentives. The Technician role can be full-time or part-time, and is hourly, depending on business needs. Responsibilities include conducting basic vehicle diagnostics, performing routine repairs and maintenance, and delivering exceptional 5-star service through effective communication and meeting guest expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform basic vehicle diagnostics to identify required repairs.
  • Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection on every guest vehicle, documenting and communicating additional services needed; audit courtesy inspections by General Service Technicians.
  • Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store environment.
  • Perform services following safety standards, including wheel torque, oil safety, and compliance procedures.
  • Test drive vehicles in accordance with policies, using dedicated routes and adhering to traffic and safety laws.
  • Follow all company policies, governmental standards, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain technical knowledge through completion of Monro University training.
  • Operate and maintain equipment safely, including lifts, welders, brake lathes, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to diagnose problems and identify solutions.
  • Ability to interpret instructions in various formats.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work in an automotive shop environment with exposure to noise, weather, chemicals, odors, dirt, and dust. Must be able to work flexible hours, lift up to 75 lbs, and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, reaching, and bending.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Automotive training or experience.
  • ASE certification and State Inspection license preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Own basic tools or participate in Monro’s tool purchase program.
