Job summary

UPS is seeking an Automotive Technician to maintain a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles and heavy duty tractors and trailers. You will troubleshoot hydraulic brakes, electrical systems and engines, and work with various powerplants including diesel, gasoline, hybrids, and electric in selected locations.

Technicians must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shifts (Mon-Fri, Sun-Thu or Tue-Sat variants). UPS offers wages, benefits, uniforms, and required hand tools for the job.

Qualifications

• Current automotive mechanical experience.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer.
• Must possess NY Heavy Vehicle inspector license.
• Class A CDL - Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment.
• Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday.
• Sits infrequently, as required, throughout duration of workday.
• Exercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete tasks.
• Operates standard and manual transmission.
• Operates power and pneumatic tools.
• Meets all requirements to be Power Industrial Truck Operations (PITO) certified.
