Jobot is expanding its Metro Detroit area service center and seeks a skilled Ford technician to join a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility. The role offers weekend-free schedule, competitive hourly pay, and long-term growth opportunities within a large automotive group.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and perform repairs on vehicles per dealership and factory standards.
• Inspect vehicles to determine required or recommended repairs.
• Test drive and verify serviceability after repairs.
• Communicate with Service Advisor about additional work.
• Maintain parts inventory and ensure a clean work area.

About the Opportunity

A well-established, high-volume automotive dealership group in the Metro Detroit area is opening a brand-new service center and expanding its technician team. This is a ground-floor opportunity to join a newly built facility with modern equipment and a strong existing customer base.

Summary/Objective

The Flat Rate Technician diagnoses and performs repairs on all vehicle components with efficiency, accuracy, and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer/factory standards.

Essential Functions

• Performs vehicle inspections, troubleshooting, and testing to determine required or recommended repairs
• Accurately diagnoses malfunctions and performs necessary repairs, including engine failures, mechanical/electrical system malfunctions, and part replacement
• Examines assigned vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is needed
• Verifies vehicle serviceability via test drives and system adjustments
• Keeps customer vehicles clean during the repair process
• Contains costs by using warranty coverage and evaluating service/parts options
• Communicates with Service Advisor/Dispatcher on additional work needed
• Assists Service Writer with work orders, test rides, and customer interaction as needed
• Manages parts/supply inventory and ordering
• Maintains a clean, organized work area
• Documents all work performed/recommended per operating procedures
• Stays current on automotive technology and terminology

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of current experience as a Ford technician
• Ford Factory Certified (required)
• Michigan State Certified (or willingness to obtain MI board certification upon relocation)
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred
• ASE Certification preferredAbility to lift 35–50+ lbs with assistance as needed; prolonged standing; repetitive motion
• Must pass background check (references required) and drug screening

Work Environment

Automotive shop environment; covered workspace with exposure to varying weather conditions and typical shop noise levels.
