Job summary

Carvana in San Diego, CA is seeking an Automotive Technician to join a fast-paced, high-volume service team. You’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicle systems, from engines to electrical components, while upholding Carvana’s commitment to quality and customer care.

You’ll work with the latest vehicle technology, participate in ongoing training, and collaborate with fellow technicians and service advisors to ensure safety and reliability for every vehicle that leaves the bay.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of automotive technician experience in a dealership or reputable shop.
• Foundational knowledge of engines, brakes, and tires; familiarity with multiple makes/models.
• ASE certifications preferred; OEM-specific training a plus.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex automotive issues.
• Experience with diagnostic software and specialized tools.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
• Commitment to quality and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicle systems using diagnostic tools and manuals.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and factory recall campaigns efficiently.
• Document services and communicate findings clearly to service advisors.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Collaborate with technicians, parts team, and service advisors.
• Pursue ongoing training to stay current with vehicle technology.
