Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an Automotive Technician in Montgomery, AL to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering excellent customer experiences. You will explain diagnoses to customers and teammates, stay current with automotive tech, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of automotive diagnostic, problem-solving and repair experience.
• Two or more ASE certifications (A4 Steering and Suspension, A5 Brakes) preferred.
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Pre-employment background check completed.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications — brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment, perform maintenance services.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to safety and environmental rules.
• Keep management informed of mechanical repair problems.
• Train and mentor co-workers.
