Job summary

Pep Boys in Mobile, AL is seeking a skilled Technician to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses to customers and coworkers and stay updated with advancing automotive technology.

You will also train and mentor coworkers, maintain a clean, safe shop, and follow all safety policies. Flexibility to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of automotive diagnostic/repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering/Suspension & A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Pre-employment background check conducted.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension, and alignment systems.
• Perform maintenance services to specifications.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to non-mechanical staff and customers.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques in training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians and keep the shop organized and safe.
• Inform management of repair problems as they arise.
• Adhere to company policies and safety/environmental rules.
