Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a Technician to professionally inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services while delivering excellent customer experiences. You will explain technical diagnoses to customers and coworkers and continuously learn new techniques to stay updated with evolving automotive technology.

The role includes mentoring coworkers, maintaining a clean, safe shop, and adhering to all safety policies. Availability for varied shifts and weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of automotive diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• Two or more ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension and A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications: brake, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension, and alignment.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques in formal training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep management aware of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety and environmental rules.
