Job summary

Pep Boys in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Technician to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and coworkers and stay current with evolving automotive technology.

Duties include diagnosing and repairing brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment, performing routine maintenance, mentoring teammates, keeping the shop organized, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering & Suspension, A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications including brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment.
• Perform duties at and beyond the scope of lower roles (Mechanic and General Service Technician).
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals as required.
• Continuously learn new technical information in formal training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to company policies, safety and environmental rules.
