Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an Automotive Mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering excellent customer service. You will clearly explain diagnoses to customers and co-workers, stay current with evolving automotive tech, and mentor teammates.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing brake, hydraulic, electrical, cooling, and suspension systems; performing maintenance; and maintaining a safe, organized shop with a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months of automotive mechanical problem-solving and repair experience.
• Section 609 Certification preferred.
• State inspection license if applicable.
• Motivation, energy and a customer-focused attitude.
• Valid driver's license.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications—brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment.
• Perform all maintenance services including lower job descriptions.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals.
• Continuously learn new technical information in formal training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop; adhere to safety policies.
