Job summary

Icahn Automotive is seeking a Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair automotive services while ensuring an excellent customer experience.   • Valid driver's license required.

Position Summary

A Technician must professionally inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. They are expected to explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to co-workers and customers. Continuous learning of new technical information and techniques is essential to stay updated with rapidly changing automotive technology. A successful Technician will also train and mentor co-workers and maintain clean, safe work areas.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair to specifications — brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension, and alignment; perform all maintenance services.
  • Perform duties of all lower job descriptions (Mechanic and General Service Technician).
  • Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs clearly to non-mechanical individuals, including employees and customers, as required.
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques through formal training to keep up with automotive technology advancements.
  • Assist fellow technicians and mechanics in technical activities.
  • Notify management promptly of mechanical repair issues.
  • Maintain an organized and clean shop environment.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety, and environmental rules.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

We expect you to help set the pace and tone while fostering team development. Collaboration and a team-first mentality are essential for success. We also require:

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving, and repair experience
  • 2 or more ASE certifications (preferred), such as A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes
  • Section 609 certification (preferred)
  • State Inspection license, if applicable
  • High motivation, energy, and a customer-focused attitude
  • Valid driver's license
  • Successful pre-employment background check
  • Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed
