Job summary

Planet Honda in Union, New Jersey, is hiring Class B and C automotive technicians for full-time, flat-rate positions paying $25.00–$40.00 per hour. Candidates should have 2–5 years of dealership or private shop experience and current ASE/manufacturer certifications.

Responsibilities include diagnosing malfunctions, completing repairs to Lithia and manufacturer standards, road-testing vehicles, and maintaining tool inventories. A valid driver’s license is required and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in a dealership or private shop
• Up-to-date ASE and manufacturer certifications
• Experience using scan tools and service information systems
• Ability to independently perform brake, suspension, and steering repairs
• Proficient in engine maintenance and basic electrical diagnostics
• Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence

Responsibilities

• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Lithia and manufacturer standards
• Diagnose cause of malfunction and complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements
• Road-test vehicles to ensure quality of repair work
• Document work performed on repair order, record test procedures/results & time, per company recording & clocking procedures
• Responsible for providing and maintaining an inventory of normal mechanics tools
