Job summary

Sullivan Tire & Auto Service is hiring an Automotive Technician to independently repair and service customer vehicles, focusing on quality and customer satisfaction. The role involves tire work, routine maintenance, and diagnostics with guidance from senior technicians.

The technician will document inspections, communicate with customers, and ensure safety standards while contributing to a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.
• Minimum 1 year experience with 1-3 ASE certifications.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Mount, dismount, balance tires and perform repairs on passenger and light trucks.
• Perform lube/oil/filter changes on domestic and foreign cars.
• Conduct vehicle safety inspections and document findings.
• Diagnose and repair vehicles including brakes, steering, suspension, HVAC, alignment, and tune-ups using automotive tools.
• Produce accurate repair estimates for customers.
• Collaborate with store management to meet productivity and customer satisfaction standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and adhere to safety/environmental policies.
• Explain repairs and value of work to customers clearly.
• Abide by internal controls and company policies; take on additional duties as needed.

Description

Sullivan Tire, an employee-owned company, has an opportunity for an Automotive Technician. The Automotive Technician independently performs vehicle repairs and services on customer’s vehicles while delivering the highest quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Correctly mounts, dismounts, balancing, and repair of passenger and light truck tires.
• Properly perform lube/oil/filter changes on domestic and foreign cars.
• Properly perform and document vehicle safety inspections.
• Perform unsupervised diagnosis and repairs of vehicles including, but not limited to, maintenance, brake, steering, suspension, heating and cooling systems, alignment, and light tune-ups utilizing automotive tools, equipment, and software (i.e., VAST, Automotive PC programs).
• Produce accurate repair estimates on customer vehicles.
• Work with store management to ensure productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction standards are met.
• Properly adhere to safety and environmental standards, including maintaining a neat and clean work area by properly disposing of all waste products.
• Communicate with customers and sales staff in understandable terms about the repairs needed to the vehicle and the value of the repairs.
• Adheres to internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Assume other responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A technical degree is a plus!
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with 1-3 ASE certifications.
• A valid Driver’s License is required.

Skills/Knowledge:

• Customer service focus in a retail environment
• Ability to lift 40-50 lbs.
