Job summary

Chevrolet of Merrillville is seeking a Used Car Technician for its busy service center. You'll diagnose, repair, and maintain used Chevrolets and other vehicles, ensuring high-quality repairs and maintenance.

This full-time position offers a competitive pay rate of $28 - $35+ per hour plus bonuses, a modern work environment, and comprehensive benefits including health insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid GM training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous used car repair / reconditioning experience required.
• GM experience or GM certification is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain used Chevrolets and other vehicles.
• Perform routine services including oil changes, brakes, and alignments.
• Handle electrical, engine performance, and drivability diagnostics.
• Complete warranty and recall work following GM guidelines.
• Document all repairs and communicate clearly with service advisors.
• Road test vehicles to confirm quality and safety of completed work.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Stay current with GM training and technology.
