Job summary

Sullivan Tire & Auto Service is seeking an Automotive Technician in a fast-paced, customer-focused shop in Massachusetts. The role independently performs repairs and services on customers’ vehicles, focusing on quality and satisfaction.

Candidates should have 1 year of experience with 1–3 ASE certifications, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift 40–50 lbs. Training on VAST and automotive PC programs is a plus; we value teamwork and strong customer communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.
• Minimum 1 year experience with 1–3 ASE certifications and a valid driver’s license.
• Comfort working in a retail automotive environment and performing repairs to customer vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Mount, dismount, balance tires for passenger and light trucks.
• Perform lube/oil/filter changes on various cars.
• Document vehicle safety inspections.
• Diagnose and repair systems using automotive tools and PC software (VAST).
• Produce accurate repair estimates for customers.
• Work with store management to meet productivity and customer satisfaction standards.
• Adhere to safety and environmental standards; maintain a clean work area.
• Communicate repair needs and value to customers; follow company policies.

Description

Sullivan Tire, an employee-owned company, currently has an opportunity for an Automotive Technician. The Automotive Technician independently performs vehicle repairs and services on customer’s vehicles while delivering the highest quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Correctly mounts, dismounts, balancing, and repair of passenger and light truck tires.


• Properly perform lube/oil/filter changes on domestic and foreign cars.


• Properly perform and document vehicle safety inspections.


• Perform unsupervised diagnosis and repairs of vehicles including, but not limited to, maintenance, brake, steering, suspension, heating and cooling systems, alignment, and light tune-ups utilizing automotive tools, equipment, and software (i.e., VAST, Automotive PC programs).


• Produce accurate repair estimates on customer vehicles.


• Work with store management to ensure productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction standards are met.


• Properly adhere to safety and environmental standards, including maintaining a neat and clean work area by properly disposing of all waste products.


• Communicate with customers and sales staff in understandable terms about the repairs needed to the vehicle and the value of the repairs.


• Adheres to internal controls, policies, and procedures.


• Assume other responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.


• A technical degree is a plus!


• Minimum of 1 year of experience with 1-3 ASE certifications.


• A valid Driver’s License is required.

Skills/Knowledge:

• Customer service focus in a retail environment
