Sullivan Tire and Auto Service in Falmouth, ME is seeking an Automotive Technician to independently perform vehicle repairs and services on customers' vehicles, delivering high quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. The role involves tire mounting/dismounting, tire balancing, lube/oil/filter changes, inspections, and diagnostics using VAST and automotive PC programs.

A valid driver’s license and 1–3 ASE certifications are preferred; a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• ASE certifications (1–3) are preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of automotive experience.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Customer service in a retail environment is important.
• Ability to lift 40-50 lbs.
• Solid understanding of tire and auto service industry.
• Basic understanding of VAST and automotive PC programs.

Responsibilities

• Mount, dismount, balance tires and perform tire service tasks.
• Lube/oil/filter changes on domestic and foreign cars.
• Perform vehicle safety inspections and diagnostics.
• Produce accurate repair estimates for customers.
• Communicate with customers and staff about repairs and value.

Description

Sullivan Tire, an employee-owned company, currently has an opportunity for an Automotive Technician. The Automotive Technician independently performs vehicle repairs and services on customer’s vehicles while delivering the highest quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Correctly mounts, dismounts, balancing, and repair of passenger and light truck tires.
• Properly perform lube/oil/filter changes on domestic and foreign cars.
• Properly perform and document vehicle safety inspections.
• Perform unsupervised diagnosis and repairs of vehicles including, but not limited to, maintenance, brake, steering, suspension, heating and cooling systems, alignment, and light tune-ups utilizing automotive tools, equipment, and software (i.e., VAST, Automotive PC programs).
• Produce accurate repair estimates on customer vehicles.
• Work with store management to ensure productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction standards are met.
• Properly adhere to safety and environmental standards, including maintaining a neat and clean work area by properly disposing of all waste products.
• Communicate with customers and sales staff in understandable terms about the repairs needed to the vehicle and the value of the repairs.
• Adheres to internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Assume other responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A technical degree is a plus!
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with 1-3 ASE certifications.
• A valid Driver’s License is required.
