Job summary

Sullivan Tire & Auto Service is seeking an Automotive Technician in Auburn, ME. The technician will independently repair and service customer vehicles while delivering high quality work and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include tire mounting/dismounting, lube/oil/filter changes, safety inspections, diagnostics, and producing repair estimates. A valid license, 1 year experience, and ASE certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ASE certifications (1–3) and minimum 1 year of experience desired.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Customer service focus for a retail environment.
• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and work in a fast-paced setting.
• Basic understanding of VAST and automotive PC programs.

Responsibilities

• Mount/dismount tires and perform balancing for passenger/light truck tires.
• Carry out lube/oil/filter changes on domestic/foreign cars.
• Document vehicle safety inspections accurately.
• Diagnose and repair vehicles including brakes, steering, suspension, HVAC, and alignments.
• Produce accurate repair estimates for customers.
• Collaborate with store management to meet productivity and customer satisfaction standards.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and proper waste disposal.
• Explain repairs and value to customers and sales staff.
• Follow internal controls, policies, and procedures; take on additional duties as needed.

Description

Sullivan Tire, an employee-owned company, currently has an opportunity for an Automotive Technician. The Automotive Technician independently performs vehicle repairs and services on customer’s vehicles while delivering the highest quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Correctly mounts, dismounts, balancing, and repair of passenger and light truck tires.


• Properly perform lube/oil/filter changes on domestic and foreign cars.


• Properly perform and document vehicle safety inspections.


• Perform unsupervised diagnosis and repairs of vehicles including, but not limited to, maintenance, brake, steering, suspension, heating and cooling systems, alignment, and light tune-ups utilizing automotive tools, equipment, and software (i.e., VAST, Automotive PC programs).


• Produce accurate repair estimates on customer vehicles.


• Work with store management to ensure productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction standards are met.


• Properly adhere to safety and environmental standards, including maintaining a neat and clean work area by properly disposing of all waste products.


• Communicate with customers and sales staff in understandable terms about the repairs needed to the vehicle and the value of the repairs.


• Adheres to internal controls, policies, and procedures.


• Assume other responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.


• A technical degree is a plus!


• Minimum of 1 year of experience with 1-3 ASE certifications.


• A valid Driver’s License is required.

Skills/Knowledge:

• Customer service focus in a retail environment
