Job summary

Sullivan Tire & Auto Service is seeking an Automotive Technician to independently repair and service customer vehicles while delivering high quality work and customer satisfaction. The technician will perform tire mounting/dismounting, tire balancing, lube/oil/filter changes, safety inspections, and diagnostic repairs using automotive tools and software.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of experience with 1–3 ASE certifications and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with 1-3 ASE certifications.
• A valid Driver’s License is required.
• A technical degree is a plus for advanced roles.

Responsibilities

• Mounts, dismounts, balances tires and repairs on passenger and light truck tires.
• Perform lube/oil/filter changes on domestic and foreign cars.
• Document vehicle safety inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicles using automotive tools and software (VAST, PC programs).
• Produce accurate repair estimates for customers.
• Collaborate with store management to meet productivity and customer satisfaction goals.
• Maintain safety and clean work area, dispose of waste correctly.
• Explain repairs and value of services to customers.
• Adhere to internal controls and procedures.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Job description

Sullivan Tire, an employee-owned company, currently has an opportunity for an Automotive Technician. The Automotive Technician independently performs vehicle repairs and services on customer’s vehicles while delivering the highest quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Correctly mounts, dismounts, balancing, and repair of passenger and light truck tires.
• Properly perform lube/oil/filter changes on domestic and foreign cars.
• Properly perform and document vehicle safety inspections.
• Perform unsupervised diagnosis and repairs of vehicles including, but not limited to, maintenance, brake, steering, suspension, heating and cooling systems, alignment, and light tune-ups utilizing automotive tools, equipment, and software (i.e., VAST, Automotive PC programs).
• Produce accurate repair estimates on customer vehicles.
• Work with store management to ensure productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction standards are met.
• Properly adhere to safety and environmental standards, including maintaining a neat and clean work area by properly disposing of all waste products.
• Communicate with customers and sales staff in understandable terms about the repairs needed to the vehicle and the value of the repairs.
• Adheres to internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Assume other responsibilities as needed.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A technical degree is a plus!
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with 1-3 ASE certifications.
• A valid Driver’s License is required.
