Job Description:

Seeking a reliable Automotive Technician to join our outstanding fleet maintenance team. The Automotive Technician will be responsible for maintaining a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. These vehicles' propulsion systems include diesel, gasoline, and alternative technologies such as compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electrical in some locations.

Automotive Technicians must be skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.

Automotive Technicians must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on the location’s need. They must possess the required hand tools for their job assignment.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Meet D.O.T requirements as required by the job assignment.
• Perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and turning/pivoting frequently throughout the workday.
• Sit infrequently, as required, during the workday.
• Exercise various hand and arm movements, including grasping, reaching, and manipulation, to complete tasks.
• Operate standard and manual transmission vehicles.
• Use power and pneumatic tools.

Requirements

• Must have an active driver’s license issued by the state.
• Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including varying schedules based on location needs.
• Possess the required hand tools for the job.
• Vermont Safe Inspection Certification.

Knowledge and Skills

• Current documented automotive mechanical experience.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and computers.
• Full set of personal hand tools.
• Class A/B or A CDL - Preferred.
• Dependability and punctuality.
• Ability to work varying shifts and overtime as needed.
• Use of personal protective equipment.
• Ability to work in variable environmental conditions.
• Effective communication skills.

The starting pay for this position is $39.25 per hour. Hired applicants are eligible for weekly pay, extensive training, 401(K), pension plan, health benefits, paid leave, holidays, and employee stock purchase programs.
