Job summary

The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack LLC in Knoxville, TN is seeking a General Service Technician to perform basic automotive services such as tire mounting/balancing, oil changes, tire repairs, and vehicle inspections while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will keep the tire and service area clean and safe and may advise customers on services that are recommended or required for their vehicle.

The role requires a valid driver's license, 18+ years of age, a High School Diploma or GED,

Qualifications

Must have a valid driver's license.
Interest in pursuing a career as an automotive technician.
Eager to learn with a competitive drive to succeed.
Must be at least 18 years old.
High School Diploma or GED.
Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends as needed.
Successful completion of pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair basic automotive issues including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
Learn new technical information in formal training sessions to stay current.
Change engine oil and filter.
Install and perform tire maintenance.
Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
Install headlights and other small bulbs.
Repair flat tires.
Stock and unload tires.
Assist fellow technicians and keep the shop organized.
Keep management informed of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
Maintain a clean and safe shop in accordance with company policy.
