Job summary

Sonic Automotive is seeking an Automotive Service Technician to perform vehicle repairs and maintenance to dealer and factory standards. You will diagnose issues, service engines, transmissions, brakes, and related systems, and document all work performed.

The role requires at least 1+ year in a dealership setting, a valid license, and the ability to pass pre-employment checks. Full-time schedule with benefits is provided.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a mechanic in a dealership or similar automotive repair setting.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of automotive systems, components, and repair procedures.
• Must have own set of tools.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
• Ability to pass pre-employment testing including background checks, MVR, and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Utilize diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and other vehicle issues.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other systems as outlined on repair orders.
• Work efficiently to diagnose malfunctions and complete repairs within established timeframes.
• Collaborate with service advisors and parts department to prioritize and schedule repairs.
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure repairs meet industry standards and safety requirements.
• Document diagnostic and repair activities accurately and complete repair orders.
• Attend factory-sponsored training to stay updated on technologies and trends.
