T & J Ford in Ville Platte, LA is seeking an Automotive Service Technician to perform high‑quality mechanical repairs, advanced diagnostics, and routine maintenance across Ford vehicles in our modern service department. This full‑time role offers pay from $15.00 to $40.00 per hour, with Monday–Friday schedules and Saturdays/Sundays off, plus paid Ford

Job Description

T&J Ford is seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Service Technician to join our growing service department. In this role, you will perform high-quality mechanical repairs, advanced diagnostics, and routine maintenance across our line of Ford vehicles.

We are looking for a reliable team player who possesses a positive, friendly attitude, excellent mechanical and troubleshooting skills, and an eagerness to learn new technologies and service procedures. Whether you are performing routine maintenance or executing complex warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications, you will play a vital role in keeping our community safe on the road.

Pay

• $15.00 to $40.00 per hour based on experience, diagnostic skill set, and active certifications.

Work Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred; previous Ford dealership experience preferred.

• Qualifications: B-level qualifications preferred, including Diagnostic, Electrical, and Engine Repair capabilities.

• Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Ability to commute to Ville Platte, LA.

Responsibilities

• Repair Execution: Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership standards.

• Diagnostics and Testing: Test-drive vehicles, test components and systems, and utilize diagnostic tools and special service equipment to isolate issues.

• Full System Maintenance: Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, and related components.

• Warranty Compliance: Execute repairs under warranty strictly to Ford manufacturer specifications and guidelines.

• Service Communication: Communicate directly with the Service Advisor and Service Manager so customers are kept informed of any additional service needed, providing accurate time estimates for additional repairs.

• Technical Upkeep: Continuously learn and adapt to new Ford technology, updated repair and service procedures, and evolving vehicle specifications.

Qualifications

• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills with proven ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.

• Manual dexterity requiring a steady hand and excellent hand-eye coordination.

• ASE Certifications preferred; Ford Certifications preferred.

• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies.

• Positive, friendly attitude along with an eagerness to improve and grow.

• Effective teammate with the ability to collaborate with others effectively in a dynamic environment.
