Job summary

Mike Savoie Volkswagen is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician to join our Metro Detroit area service team. Compensation is negotiable based on experience.

We offer a dynamic, no-weekend, 5-day work week environment with comprehensive benefits and ongoing VW training. Responsibilities include performing repair orders per manufacturer specs, testing and diagnosing vehicles, and communicating with customers and service advisors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred ASE certification.
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills with ability to operate diagnostic equipment.
• Volkswagen experience a plus; positive, friendly attitude and eagerness to grow.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer specifications.
• Test-drive vehicles, components and systems using diagnostic tools to diagnose concerns.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate with the Service Advisor to inform customers if additional service is needed.
• Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer stipulations.

Responsibilities

• Test-drive vehicles, components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment to accurately diagnose customer's concern


• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.


• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed.


• Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs


• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer stipulations

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Service Technician experience (preferred)


• High school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification (preferred)


• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment


• Volkswagen experiences a plus


• Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve


• Enjoy working in a dynamic fast-paced environment


• Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively


• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications


• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
