Job summary

Mike Savoie Volkswagen is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician to join our Metro Detroit area service team. You will diagnose and repair vehicles to factory specifications while providing courteous, efficient service.

We offer a 5-day work week with no weekends, competitive flat-rate compensation, a lucrative year-end technician bonus, paid VW training, ASE reimbursement, paid vacation, and full medical, dental, and vision coverage. ASE certification and VW experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred.
• ASE certification is preferred.
• Ability to operate diagnostic equipment per manufacturer specs.
• Experience with VW is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform work on repair orders efficiently per dealer and manufacturer specs.
• Test-drive vehicles and diagnose concerns with diagnostic tools.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, HVAC.
• Communicate with Service Advisor about additional needed work.
• Provide time estimates for repairs and complete warranty work where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer specifications


• Test-drive vehicles, components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment to accurately diagnose customer's concern


• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.


• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed.


• Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs


• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer stipulations

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Service Technician experience (preferred)


• High school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification (preferred)


• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment


• Volkswagen experiences a plus


• Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve


• Enjoy working in a dynamic fast-paced environment


• Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively


• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications


• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
