Job summary

Mike Savoie Volkswagen in the Metro Detroit area is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician to join our team. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and dedication.

You will perform repairs per dealer and manufacturer specifications, test-drive vehicles, and communicate with the Service Advisor regarding additional service needs. We offer a 5-day work week with no weekends or late nights, paid VW training, ASE reimbursement, comprehensive health benefits, 401K with company

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Service Technician experience (preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent; ASE Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer specifications
• Test-drive vehicles, components and systems to diagnose customer concerns
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C
• Communicate with Service Advisor about additional service needs
• Provide time estimates for additional repairs
• Execute repairs under warranty per manufacturer stipulations

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer specifications


• Test-drive vehicles, components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment to accurately diagnose customer's concern


• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.


• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed.


• Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs


• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer stipulations

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Service Technician experience (preferred)


• High school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification (preferred)


• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment


• Volkswagen experiences a plus


• Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve


• Enjoy working in a dynamic fast-paced environment


• Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively


• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications


• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
