Job summary

Island Honda is hiring a Service Technician to perform a range of repair tasks in a fast-paced dealership setting. You will diagnose issues, complete repairs to Lithia and manufacturer standards, and drive vehicles to verify quality.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and efficient documentation of work and time. Qualifications include high school graduation and two+ years of automotive knowledge, with manufacturer training and ASE certifications encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent. Two+ years automotive knowledge.
• Manufacturer training completed; ability to perform repairs without supervision in listed areas.
• ASE certifications or manufacturer certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs per repair order with efficiency and accuracy per Lithia and manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose malfunction causes and test drive to verify repairs.
• Complete work per safety requirements and record time spent accurately.
• Document all work performed and test results on the repair order.
• Maintain organized workspace and ensure customer vehicles are clean after service.
• Pursue required training and maintain manufacturer and ASE certifications.

• Pay: $20.00-$50.00 Per Flat Rate Hours
• Schedule: Full Time

What You’ll Do

• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Lithia and manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose cause of malfunction.
• Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements.
• Road-test vehicles to ensure quality of repair work.
• Accurately record time spent on repairs utilizing company time clocking procedures.
• Document work performed on repair order and document test procedures/results.
• Use shop supplies and materials in a practical and economical manner.
• Maintain an organized and clean workspace, completing a stall cleaning every day.
• Ensure that customer's vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced.
• Complete all required training.
• Acquire and maintain manufacturer and ASE certifications by completing the necessary and required training.
• Participate in and utilize technical training as assigned by management.
• Review the technical bulletins and other publications as assigned by management.

• Manufacturer certified in all areas listed above.
• Customer Pay Proficiency Level: Greater than 100% Customer Pay Repairs
• Automotive Technical Knowledge - Two+ years
• Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence

Total Rewards

This is a flat rate position that is also eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives as part of total compensation, which includes Bonuses based on Production Productivity

The average pay range for this position is $20.00-$50.00 per flat rate hours

Actual pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and physical location. Final compensation will be established through the interview process in accordance with applicable pay equity and transparency laws
