Job summary

Heritage Ford is seeking an automotive technician to join our family-owned service team in Southern Indiana. This role requires diagnosing and repairing vehicle systems and collaborating with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed.

We offer a signing bonus up to $1,500, medical and dental insurance, a 401(k) plan, and a supportive work environment. A valid driver’s license and drug screening/background check are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 year college degree in vehicle maintenance/automotive technology preferred.
• Strong automotive background required.
• Strong teamwork skills required.
• Willing to submit to a drug screen and background check.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair work on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and components using diagnostic tools and service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems (engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C, etc.).
• Communicate with Service Advisor about needed additional repairs and provide time estimates.
• Complete tasks in a timely manner and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
• Keep the work area clean and follow safety regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership.
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
• Complete all tasks assigned in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 year college degree in vehicle maintenance/automotive technology preferred
• Strong automotive background
• Strong teamwork skills
• Willing to submit to a drug screen& background check
• Valid driver’s license free from major interactions required
