Job summary

Pep Boys in Vestavia Hills, AL is seeking a Service Desk Associate to engage customers, schedule appointments, sell parts and services, and ensure car care needs are met across the sales floor and at the register.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and at least one year of automotive service or sales experience, with strong communication and customer service skills. Day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• One year of related automotive service experience preferred.
• One year of sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for customers on the phone and in the store; schedules appointments, builds trust, communicates processes and timelines, and sells parts and service.
• Organizes and drives productivity of the service business through work order and register transactions, vehicle inspections, and parts knowledge.
• Assists in customer care, work order/register assistance, facility maintenance, and Outside Purchase ordering under management direction.
• Follows all cash, credit, check, refund, and return policies; works with management on issues and opportunities.
• Performs routine express automotive services including tire services, oil changes, fluid top-offs, lubrication, filters, bulbs, battery installation, and vehicle inspections.
• Maintains safety procedures and SOP compliance for wheel torque and vehicle services.
• Collaborates with management to maintain a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment.
• Communicates effectively with associates, management, and customers; conveys information clearly.
• Acts as a key holder with opening/closing responsibilities and keeps the shop organized.
• Adheres to all company policies, safety, and environmental rules.
