Job summary

DARCARS of Frederick is hiring an Automotive Service Cashier / Receptionist to be the front-line representative of the dealership. The role greets customers, directs them to the right department, and answers basic inquiries.

The position is paid at $15 per hour for a 40-hour work week, with benefits and opportunities for internal advancement. Applicants should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Speaks clearly and pleasantly on the telephone and conveys professionalism to customers
• Strong communication skills with customers and colleagues
• Demonstrates commitment to customer service
• Able to read and comprehend instructions, memos, and policy documents
• Previous customer service experience preferred but not required
• Capable of sitting for long periods and working in a fast-paced environment
• Must be a team player and pass background screening

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and determine the nature of their visit
• Direct customers to the correct department
• Answer basic customer inquiries and refer more extensive inquiries to the appropriate person
• Enter data into computer-operated prospect tracking system
• Manage switchboard
• Communicate with callers in a professional and efficient manner
• Take thorough messages with caller details
• Inform relevant parties of messages promptly
• Provide basic information to callers with general inquiries
• Update and distribute the company telephone roster as needed
• Perform clerical and accounting duties as assigned by the controller or GSM
• Other duties as assigned by management
• Make transaction receipts for sales or service, if applicable
