Laura Automotive Group is seeking an Automotive Service Advisor to greet customers, document concerns, and determine service needs. You will prepare repair orders, estimate labor and costs, and obtain authorization for additional work. The role requires strong communication skills and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

The position is full-time in Illinois, with standard hours and a schedule that supports a busy service department. Union benefits and ongoing training are part of the package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• General service technical knowledge.
• Prior service advising experience required.
• Prior sales experience preferred.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment.
• Superior verbal, written, and organizational skills.
• Competent in Word, Excel, and CRM databases.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a timely, friendly, and professional manner and obtain vehicle information.
• Perform vehicle walk-arounds with customers to document concerns and condition.
• Identify mechanical issues through customer communication, visual inspection, and/or road tests.
• Consult with customers regarding inspection results and recommend appropriate repair procedures.
• Prepare accurate repair orders including labor, time, and cost estimates for service work.
• Clearly explain repair findings, completed work, and charges to customers.
• Handle and resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly.
• Monitor repair progress throughout the day and provide updates to customers as needed.
• Contact customers regarding changes in estimates, completion times, or additional required repairs and obtain proper authorization before proceeding.
• Review repair orders to ensure all work is completed and properly documented, then close repair orders appropriately.
• Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction and service experience.
• Remains fully compliant with Company HR trainings.
• Maintains a professional appearance.
• Other tasks as assigned.
