Job summary

Lexus of Wesley Chapel is seeking a proactive Service Advisor to liaise with customers, assess automotive service needs, and prepare accurate repair estimates. You will verify warranty coverage, communicate with customers, and coordinate repairs with technicians to deliver a smooth service experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing role within an automotive service environment.
• Ability to explain complex vehicle issues to customers in clear terms.
• Proficiency with dealership software and computer systems.
• Sales experience is a plus for upselling services.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, listen to service requests, and document symptoms and vehicle history.
• Verify warranty and service coverage, and prepare cost estimates for approvals.
• Develop estimates by calculating parts, labor, and applicable deductibles.
• Create repair orders with detailed findings and recommended services; obtain approvals.
• Maintain customer rapport by communicating progress, pricing, and timelines clearly.
• Update service records and communicate new knowledge to the team.

Responsibilities:

• Ascertains automotive problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules.
• Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions.
• Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculating customer's payment, including deductibles.
• Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system.
• Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer's approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation.
• Maintains automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications.
• Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an automotive Service Advisor and a working knowledge of automobiles.
• Customer service skills.
• Sales experience.
• Proficiency with computers and technology.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to customers.

Advanced skills:

• Prior automobile sales experience
• Prior automobile technician experience
• A certification through the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence
• Retail experience.
