Job summary

Hagerstown Honda is seeking an Automotive Service Advisor to join our growing service team in Hagerstown, MD. You will be the primary contact for service customers, write up appointments, document concerns for technicians, and help ensure smooth daily operations.

The role offers a base salary with commission, full-time in-person work, and benefits. Ideal candidates have strong customer service, good communication, and basic automotive knowledge.

Qualifications

• Valid US driver’s license is required.
• Experience in automotive dealership customer service is a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Mechanical knowledge of cars (diagnostics, oil changes, shocks, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and write up service appointments promptly and professionally.
• Listen to customer concerns and document them clearly for technicians.
• Provide accurate repair estimates and explain recommended maintenance.
• Communicate with parts department and technicians to support workflow.
• Update customers on repair status and obtain approval for additional services.
• Sell maintenance services based on vehicle needs.
• Maintain accurate customer and service records.

Hagerstown Honda is seeking an Automotive Service Advisor / Service Writer to join our growing service department. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced dealership environment, enjoys delivering outstanding customer service, and has strong automotive knowledge. You’ll be the primary point of contact for service customers and play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations.

Pay: $40,000–$90,000 per year (base + commission) Job Type: Full-time | In-person

Automotive Service Advisor Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and write up service appointments promptly and professionally

• Listen to customer concerns and document them clearly for technicians

• Provide accurate repair estimates and explain recommended maintenance

• Communicate with the parts department and technicians to support efficient workflow

• Update customers on repair status and obtain approval for additional services

• Achieve department goals and maintain high customer satisfaction ratings

• Review completed repair orders for accuracy and completeness

• Sell maintenance services based on vehicle needs

• Handle customer questions, complaints, and follow-ups professionally

• Maintain accurate customer and service records

• Report additional tasks or needs to management

Automotive Service Advisor Qualifications:

• Valid USdriver’s license (Required)

• Experience preferred but not required

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Mechanical knowledge (shocks, struts, oil changes, diagnostics, etc.)

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dealership environment

• Team-oriented attitude with a professional appearance

• High attention to detail

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)

• Experience in automotive dealership customer service is a plus

• Reliability and strong problem-solving skills

Automotive Service Advisor Schedule

• 8-hour shifts

• Monday - Saturday

• 2 days off weekly- No Sundays, plus one additional day off per week
