Surge Staffing is seeking a highly motivated, sales-driven Automotive Account Manager to drive revenue growth, expand existing client partnerships, and maximize client retention within the automotive manufacturing and supplier industry. This role is responsible for developing strategic relationships with key decision-makers, identifying new business opportunities within existing accounts, increasing market share, and ensuring exceptional client satisfaction.

The Automotive Account Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to automotive clients while partnering with recruiting and operations teams to deliver workforce solutions that support production demands and business growth. This position is heavily focused on sales, account growth, customer retention, and revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
  • Grow revenue within existing automotive accounts through strategic upselling and cross-selling of staffing services.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned accounts and target markets.
  • Develop and execute account growth plans designed to increase market penetration and profitability.
  • Build relationships with plant managers, operations leaders, HR professionals, procurement teams, and executive leadership.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with clients to identify staffing challenges and present workforce solutions.
  • Meet or exceed established sales, growth, and retention goals.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and service renewals.
Client Retention & Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key automotive clients.
  • Develop long-term relationships that drive customer loyalty and account retention.
  • Proactively identify risks to client satisfaction and implement corrective action plans.
  • Maintain frequent client contact through site visits, meetings, calls, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Ensure rapid resolution of service issues, employee concerns, and operational challenges.
  • Monitor client satisfaction and implement retention strategies to strengthen partnerships.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews and present performance metrics, workforce trends, and recommendations.
Workforce & Operational Management
  • Partner with recruiting teams to ensure staffing needs are met quickly and effectively.
  • Monitor fill rates, turnover, attendance, and workforce productivity across assigned accounts.
  • Analyze account performance data and develop strategies to improve retention and workforce stability.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives that reduce turnover and improve client satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all client requirements, safety standards, and employment regulations.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of outside sales, business development, account management, staffing, or automotive industry experience.
  • Proven track record of generating revenue growth and retaining key client relationships.
  • Experience managing high-volume accounts within manufacturing, automotive, logistics, or industrial environments preferred.
  • Strong consultative sales and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales quotas and retention goals.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with CRM, ATS, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to client locations.
