The Automotive Account Manager is responsible for managing strategic customer relationships with assigned automotive OEMs while driving profitable sales growth across existing and new vehicle programs. This role serves as the primary commercial interface between the Tier 1 supplier and the OEM, leading all commercial activities from quotation through production and end-of-life. The Account Manager collaborates closely with engineering, program management, operations, quality, finance, and supply chain teams to ensure customer satisfaction, achieve business objectives, and support long-term growth.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with purchasing, engineering, program management, and executive contacts at assigned automotive OEM customers.
- Manage the commercial aspects of customer accounts throughout the product lifecycle, including new business acquisition, production support, engineering changes, and service requirements.
- Lead the preparation, negotiation, and presentation of quotations, pricing proposals, and commercial agreements.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams during RFQ activities to ensure competitive, accurate, and timely customer responses.
- Negotiate pricing, tooling, cost recovery, annual productivity agreements, and commercial terms while protecting company profitability.
- Monitor customer forecasts, production schedules, and business performance to ensure alignment with internal operations and financial objectives.
- Drive annual sales growth while achieving revenue, margin, and profitability targets.
- Lead commercial issue resolution related to quality, delivery, warranty, and customer satisfaction in partnership with internal teams.
- Prepare sales forecasts, account plans, customer presentations, and executive business reviews.
- Monitor competitive market trends, industry developments, and OEM sourcing strategies to identify future opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with customer‑specific requirements, contractual obligations, and company policies.
- Represent the company during customer meetings, plant visits, trade events, and executive reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of automotive sales, account management, or business development experience within a Tier 1 automotive supplier.
- Experience managing commercial relationships with one or more automotive OEMs (e.g., Ford, General Motors, Stellantis, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Volkswagen Group, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Tesla, Rivian, or other global OEMs).
- Knowledge of automotive purchasing processes and supplier commercial practices.
