ifm efector, inc. in Detroit, MI is seeking a self‑motivated Sales Engineer to join our growing team. This role focuses on existing and new customer relationships within the automotive manufacturing and automation segments, reporting to the Regional Sales Manager.

You will define process improvements and leverage technical knowledge to deliver high‑value automation solutions, balancing remote and in‑person engagements to drive growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related technical sales experience preferred.
• Engineering or Business degree preferred.
• Industrial automation experience, specifically within the automotive industry, preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels within an organization.
• Ability to sell in remote or face‑to‑face situations.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to learn about their business, products, and initiatives.
• Implement a sales process that clearly defines challenges and a solution concept.
• Determine the decision‑making process and key stakeholders in a sale.
• Leverage technical product knowledge to provide high‑quality automation solutions.
• Communicate with customers via web conferences, LinkedIn, and phone calls.
• Conduct in‑person meetings on large projects to evaluate machines and present solutions.
• Work in a team‑selling environment to leverage Sales team expertise.
• Approach new business with energy to drive future growth.
