Job summary

GPC Genuine Parts Company operates NAPA retail stores and is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to apply automotive knowledge and customer service excellence in daily store operations, inventory, and sales execution. This role supports the Store Manager while maintaining active customer-facing sales responsibilities.

The position may require overtime hours and keyholder responsibilities opening and closing the store to ensure coverage and continuity, with a developmental pathway toward Store

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical or trade school courses or degree.
• Experience in the automotive after-market service industry.
• Leadership experience.
• Knowledge of cataloging and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales execution, inventory health, labor/scheduling alignment, and team performance.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships across retail and wholesale channels (in-store, phone, and external dealer/wholesale calls as needed).
• Execute or oversee opening and closing routines (security, cash reconciliation, end-of-day reporting, facility readiness).
• Monitor core store metrics and uncover trends to drive improvements.
• Provide leadership oversight, training and mentoring to the team for flexible execution of store functions.
