Job summary

Cox Automotive USA is seeking an Auto Maintenance Tech I to determine the final mechanical status of vehicles before sale and perform basic level repairs to increase unit value at auction.

The role requires 1–2 years of automotive experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to perform maintenance tasks in a day shift at a fixed Cox location in Mount Juliet, TN. A $1,500 New Hire Tool Bonus is offered along with an hourly pay range of $20.10–$30.10.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
• Become certified in a minimum of 5 areas with a preference for brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling, and electrical.
• Any ASE certifications and/or a tech school degree is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle mechanical status determined by Operations Coordinators at check-in.
• Perform light mechanical repairs to get vehicle to run and/or drive.
• Perform necessary minor repairs to vehicles such as inflating or replacing tires, prior to parking.
• For more moderate repairs, contact local yards or distributors to find and price used parts when applicable.
• Contact customer directly for approval to make repairs.
• Maintain an organized, neat and safe bay.
• Change oil and/or transmission fluid and filters.
