Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. in the United States seeks an Automotive Regulatory Counsel with strong communication and team skills to guide regulatory compliance across engineering, product, EHS, and management teams.

You will advise on NHTSA, EPA, CARB standards, oversee regulatory investigations, and help shape internal policies for ICE, electric, and autonomous vehicles. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will coordinate with regulators, Hyundai leadership, and outside counsel as

Formación

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in private practice or in-house at an automotive OEM focusing on automotive regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of NHTSA, EPA, CARB regulations and investigations.

Responsabilidades

• Provide legal guidance to engineering, product, EHS, and management teams on regulatory requirements and risk mitigation.
• Advise management on material regulatory risks, opportunities, and compliance strategies.
• Collaborate with homologation/certification, engineering, and product teams to align development with regulatory standards.
• Address regulatory challenges for autonomous vehicles, cybersecurity, and data privacy.
• Advise on regulatory investigations and reporting obligations in all markets; interact with regulators and outside counsel as needed.
• Advise on laws relating to the automotive landscape and shape internal policies for ICE, electric, and autonomous vehicles.
• Make recommendations on legal problems and determine when escalation is needed with HATCI or Hyundai leadership.
