Job summary

Sonic Automotive, a Fortune 500 company, is seeking a Reconditioning Technician at Lone Star Chevrolet in Houston to inspect, repair, and prep pre-owned vehicles for frontline readiness. The role requires basic maintenance, vehicle inspections, and accurate documentation for service advisors.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of general automotive maintenance or repair.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Authorized to work in the USA and able to pass pre-employment testing including background checks, MVR, and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and prepare pre-owned vehicles to dealership and manufacturer standards.
• Perform basic maintenance such as oil changes, brakes, batteries, and fluid checks.
• Document work performed and communicate needed repairs to service advisors or management.
• Assist with cosmetic reconditioning including buffing and light interior cleaning.
• Ensure vehicles meet safety and quality standards before moving to the front line.
• Maintain reconditioning logs and meet daily production targets.
• Operate and move vehicles safely around the dealership and service areas.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety procedures.
