Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Reconditioning Manager to supervise the Inspection Center team and drive daily operations, quality control, and cost objectives. You will lead 5+ leads and up to 70 front-line associates in a lean manufacturing setting while maintaining a culture focused on continuous improvement and safety.

The role requires strong leadership, a background in automotive or lean manufacturing, and the ability to deliver against strategic goals in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing associates.
• Proven ability to obtain project deliverables and company metrics.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years.
• Ability to maintain high volume and high-quality content in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with and through teams to achieve results.
• Strong analysis and decision making ability.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Ability to work overtime and on weekends.
• Ability to walk up to three miles each day.
• Requires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Mentor direct reports and support succession through coaching and training.
• Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with company goals.
• Ensure adherence to operating standards, policies, and performance measures.
• Foster positive communication and team cohesion while upholding Carvana’s values.
• Recruit, select, orient, and train supervisory staff.
• Ensure progression path training and certification processes are consistently executed.
• Train and mentor leads and associates with competency feedback.
• Ensure capacity planning and production scheduling.
• Ensure health, safety, and loss prevention guidelines compliance.
• Provide vision and guidance to meet performance metrics.
• Reinforce quality, production and cost objectives.
• Lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
