Job summary

Cox Automotive in Matteson, IL is seeking a detail-oriented Vehicle Inspector to verify information on work orders, document findings, and perform end-of-day procedures. You will conduct thorough inspections of interior, exterior, and systems, write ECRs, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and strong communication skills. Overtime may be required; the work is outdoors in varied conditions with a moderate noise

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Generally, less than 2 years of experience.
• Safe driver's license required and valid.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle information based on work orders by inspecting all customer vehicles at receipt for damage, missing parts, and problems.
• Prepare and complete all necessary documentation.
• Set up system for day-end and perform day-end procedures.
• Maintain knowledge to follow all policies and procedures.
• Write electronic condition reports (ECR).
• Conduct courtesy inspections and walk-arounds.
• Maintain knowledge of system capabilities and relevant software/web-based applications.
• Understand ongoing improvements in body mechanics and inspection techniques.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in safety initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• May work overtime as needed by business.
