Job summary

TekWissen is seeking an Automotive PLC Controls Engineer for a 12-month onsite assignment in Georgetown, KY. You’ll design electrical schemes for stamping presses, including HMI, PLC, and Safety PLC systems, with hands-on commissioning support.

Responsibilities cover HMI/PLC programming, hardware layouts, risk assessments, and field device layouts while guiding engineers and technicians during upgrades.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering/related field.
• AutoCAD Electrical experience.
• PLC programming experience (Rockwell, Mitsubishi and Siemens preferred) – Must Have.
• Electrical hardware design and modification experience.
• Experience with equipment demolition, installation, and commissioning.
• Ability to multitask.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for stamping presses including HMI, PLC, and Safety PLC.
• Create and modify HMI programs using GP-pro on Proface hardware.
• Develop PLC programs for Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Yaskawa hardware.
• Prepare hardware and panel layouts and perform risk assessments.
• Review designs with customers and supervise installation and commissioning.
• Provide direction to engineers and technicians during upgrades.
