Job summary

Tecknomic LLC is hiring a Controls Engineer in Georgetown, KY, onsite only. You will lead electrical design for stamping presses, and drive automation upgrades including PLC, Safety PLC, and HMI work.

Responsibilities include programming, hardware layouts, and risk assessments to support bids, installation, and commissioning. The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, strong PLC experience (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens), and AutoCAD Electrical proficiency.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering/technologies, technician degree, or equivalent work experience.
• PLC programming experience on Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens is a must.
• AutoCAD Electrical experience and electrical hardware design/modification experience.

A leading automotive manufacturer is hiring a Controls Engineer in Georgetown, KY (100% onsite, local): electrical design on mechanical and hydraulic power stamping presses and automation upgrades, including PLC, Safety PLC, and HMI design, hardwire/panel/field device layouts, risk assessments, installation supervision, and full-line commissioning.

What you’ll do

• Lead electrical design on mechanical and hydraulic power stamping presses and related automation upgrades
• Create and modify PLC programs (Studio 5000, RSLinx, IAB, MPE720, PCwin, Memosoft, Simatic Step 7) on Allen-Bradley, Yaskawa, Siemens, and OEM controllers
• Create and modify Safety PLC programs (Studio 5000, Simatic Step 7) on Allen-Bradley and Siemens
• Create and modify HMI programs (GP-Pro on Proface hardware) and verify during customer buyoffs
• Create and modify hardwire layouts, panel layouts, and field device layouts (AutoCAD Electrical, IAB)
• Perform risk assessments for bid selection, hardware procurement, and installation timing

What you need

• BS in Electrical Engineering/technologies, technician degree, or equivalent work experience
• PLC programming experience (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens preferred): must-have
• AutoCAD Electrical experience and electrical hardware design/modification experience
• Experience with equipment demolition, installation, and commissioning
• Able to multitask, work well in a team, and communicate clearly (verbal and written)
