Magnit Direct Sourcing on behalf of Toyota is hiring a Controls Engineer for a 12-month contract in Georgetown, KY. The role focuses on PLC programming, installation, and continuous improvement of automated equipment.

Responsibilities include reviewing specs, implementing modifications, training maintenance staff, and coordinating with vendors to optimize cost and schedule. Travel up to 20% is required; overtime may be necessary.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of strong PLC programming/troubleshooting across brands (ToyoPuc, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley).
• 6+ years comprehensive knowledge of PLCs.
• 4+ years comprehensive knowledge of electrical circuits and industrial controls.
• 2-year technical degree or completion of trade school (EET or Industrial Maintenance Technology) and/or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings.
• Travel up to 20% (including international travel).
• Overtime up to 20% when required.
• Lift up to 40 lbs occasionally; stand/walk/bend/kneel/crouch.
• Manual dexterity for tools and machinery.
• Proficiency with MS Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams.

Responsibilities

• Review equipment specifications and design; identify improvements; conduct vendor buyoffs to confirm equipment functions.
• Install equipment; verify safety, quality, and productivity of equipment.
• Investigate to determine modification requirements; implement modifications; trial and adjust.
• Lower cost and decrease project time by overseeing installation by vendor and facilitating kanban process.
• Improve equipment quality and productivity by implementing adjustments identified during trials.
• Install, set-up, and troubleshoot ToyoPuc and Allen-Bradley program controllers.
• Provide training to Maintenance on newly implemented equipment.
• Share SME knowledge with NAMC Maintenance and Production Members.
