Genuine Parts Company is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Phoenix to leverage automotive and customer service expertise while leading store operations and supporting the Store Manager.

You will drive counter sales, inventory tasks, delivery coordination, and daily operations, with overtime and keyholder responsibilities as needed. This role offers a developmental pathway to Store Manager with a focus on customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade coursework or degree is a plus.
• Automotive aftermarket experience or willingness to learn automotive topics.
• Proven leadership experience in retail or service settings.
• Strong customer care mindset and ability to build long-term relationships.
• Thrive in fast-paced, complex environments and manage multiple tasks.
• Experience with cataloging and inventory management systems.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs as needed.
• Background or passion for automotive, heavy equipment, or related fields.
• Experience in parts store/retail management is preferred.
• Customer-centric attitude toward both external and internal customers.
• ASE certifications are a plus; NAPA Know How is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales execution, inventory health, labor/scheduling alignment, and team performance.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships across retail and wholesale channels.
• Model expected behaviors, processes, and customer standards.
• Execute or oversee opening and closing routines including cash reconciliation and daily reporting.
• Handle or support administrative tasks: scheduling input, compliance docs, performance reporting, and basic P&L awareness.
• Monitor store metrics (sales, inventory accuracy/turn, customer satisfaction) and drive improvement.
• Provide leadership oversight, training and performance management for store functions as needed.
• Support talent development and mentorship for advancement.
• Drive safety, asset protection and continuous improvement initiatives.
