Job summary

Coulter Automotive Group is seeking a Parts Counterperson in Tempe to support our fast-paced service team and deliver exceptional customer experiences. You will manage the parts sales process, communicate professionally with customers, and ensure accurate pricing and order fulfillment.

The role emphasizes reliability, product knowledge, and the ability to read parts catalogs, handle phone inquiries, and coordinate with the shop and customers to ensure timely, accurate parts delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior auto parts sales experience preferred.
• Eager to improve in a dynamic work environment.
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
• Ability to read/interpret safety and maintenance documents.
• Ability to calculate figures including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, %s, area, circumference and volume.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish.
• Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Converse effectively regarding customer parts status.
• Read and understand the parts catalog when looking up parts.
• Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and other information to customers.
• Review body shop estimates to verify parts and pricing alignment.
• Provide high-level service to internal and external customers.
• Pull/fill orders from stock and maintain weekly stock checks.
• Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or urgent shop materials.
• Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources as needed.
• Ensure internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders.
• Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
