Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a Parts Specialist to provide outstanding service to retail and installer customers while supporting store management with assigned tasks. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and you will greet customers, assist with merchandise selection, handle returns, and participate in in-store service tasks as needed.

The role includes cash handling, answering store calls, and performing daily operational duties.

Qualifications

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
• Ability to provide outstanding, friendly and professional customer service.
• Must be able to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store at the same time.

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote customer service programs (Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, Rock the Lot, etc.).
• Promptly greet retail/walk-in customers and assist them in selecting merchandise.
• Assist managers and/or installer service specialists in serving professional customers as needed.
• Complete assigned company training relevant to position.
• Provide excellent service to customers calling the store by answering all calls, lookup parts and quote prices, and offering the Low-Price Guarantee.
• Responsible for maintaining and securing the cash drawer, accepting cash and checks, making change, and processing credit card transactions.
• Process exchanges and returns for credit per company policies.
• Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
• Assist with daily image maker and planogram updates, including freight receival, stocking shelves, fronting and facing, cleaning, etc.
• Perform daily operational tasks such as preparing returns to the distribution center and conducting inventory counts.
• Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after training and company requirements are met.
• Perform in-store services for customers (where state/local laws allow) – e.g., install wipers, test batteries, test charging system, scan trouble codes, replace headlight capsules.
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle when business needs dictate (driving record must meet requirements).
• All other duties as assigned.
