Base pay range: $21.00/hr - $26.00/hr

Position Details

Title: Automotive Painter

Location: St. Charles, MO

Schedule: 2nd Shift, 1pm - 11:30pm (4 days/10 hours)

Role Summary

The Automotive Painter performs advanced prep and paint work on trailers, vehicles, and displays. This role requires expertise in automotive painting techniques, surface prep, and finishing, with a high degree of autonomy. Candidates should have a background in automotive or industrial painting, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions to ensure quality work. The environment is dynamic, requiring adaptability and a willingness to learn multiple skills.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform surface preparation: sanding, masking, priming, and bodywork repair.
  2. Mix and apply paints, primers, and topcoats to meet specifications.
  3. Operate spray guns and painting equipment accurately.
  4. Inspect finishes and correct imperfections.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve painting issues.
  6. Work efficiently to minimize waste and meet timelines.
  7. Follow instructions and communicate with team members.
  8. Manage inventory and organize materials.
  9. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  10. Document work and parts used.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. 2-6 years' experience in automotive or commercial painting, or related education/certification.
  3. Knowledge of automotive body work and ability to read a tape measure.
  4. Attention to detail, initiative, and ability to work independently.
  5. Ability to troubleshoot, use hand tools, and adapt to changing priorities.
  6. Strong communication skills and safety consciousness.
  7. Ability to operate a forklift (training provided).
  8. Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  9. Stable work history and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Certification, associate’s degree, or vocational training in automotive paint or similar.
  2. Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  3. Welding experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand for 8+ hours, lift up to 75 lbs, work at heights, and use PPE. Some travel may be required.
